Dating back to 350 B.C-340 B.C, bees are shown on coins and jewelry from Ephesus, an ancient Greek Ionian city. Within the Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the bee was the goddess' symbol, representing fertility and healing through the virtues of honey. The bee is prominent in the mythology of practically every culture, including the Mayans, Hindus, Egyptians, and ancient Greek.
